LISS Mentor Teacher Workshops are professional learning opportunities for classroom teachers in New York. The workshops should take place in the Long Island Sound watershed (Includes Bronx, Queens, Westchester, and North Shore of Long Island), include a field component (water sampling, monitoring, etc.) and activities designed for use in the classroom.
Workshop Description (Share your ideas!):
1) Why would you like to be a Long Island Sound Mentor Teacher?
2) Where and when would you like the workshop to take place? (All workshops must take place in before October 30, 2025).
3) What would you like to cover during the workshop? (Include topic, activities, format, and correlation with New York State or Next Generation Science Standards*).
*If possible, mention which specific standards you would like to address in your workshop (Example: ESS2-4: developing a model to describe the cycling of water through Earth's systems).
There will be flexibility to change workshop details after selection.
